Interview prep questions and answers
How does this tool choose interview questions?
It reads the job description you paste, finds the skills, tools, level, and duties, and fills question templates with those details. It works from rules and word lists inside your browser. No AI model is called. Treat the list as a smart starting point, not a promise of what you will be asked.
Will I be asked these exact questions?
Probably not word for word. Interviewers write their own questions, but they tend to ask about the same themes: your background, your skills, how you handle hard situations, and why you want the job. Preparing stories around those themes works even when the wording changes.
What are STAR, PREP, and Present-Past-Future?
They are simple answer shapes. STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) suits tell me about a time questions. PREP (Point, Reason, Example, Point) suits opinion and motivation questions. Present-Past-Future suits tell me about yourself. The guided form switches to the shape that fits each question, and there are shapes for what would you do, first 90 days, and weakness questions too.
How long should an interview answer be?
It depends on the question. Tell me about a time stories usually run about 90 seconds, while why do you want this job is closer to 60. Each question here shows its own target, and the coach measures your answer against it, estimating spoken time at 2.5 words per second. Read your answer out loud once to check the real timing.
How is the answer coaching calculated?
The coach runs seven checks: a number tied to a result, using I more than we, spoken length for that question, a skill from the posting, few filler words, a clear opening line, and a clean ending. The grade weighs each check, with the result and the right spoken length counting most. An answer that is far too short or off its target length cannot earn a Strong grade, however many other checks pass. It is a rule based coaching aid, not a prediction of how an interviewer will react.
Do I need a number in every answer?
Numbers make results easier to trust, so it helps to include one when you can. If you do not have exact figures, use an honest estimate and say it is an estimate, or describe the size of the change in plain terms, such as cutting a weekly task from a full day to an hour. Never invent a figure you cannot defend if you are asked about it.
How many stories should I prepare?
Many candidates prepare a handful of flexible stories, for example a win, a conflict, a mistake, a time you led, and a time you learned something fast. One good story can often answer several different questions with a small change in emphasis.
What should I do if I lack a skill from the posting?
Be honest and show how you would close the gap. Share a time you learned something quickly, name the closest skill you already have, and describe how you would get up to speed. Most interviewers respond better to a clear plan than to bluffing.
What questions should I ask the interviewer?
Ask about what success looks like in the first months, how the team works day to day, and the biggest challenge ahead. The tool builds six questions from the posting. Bring two or three and cross off any that get answered during the conversation.
Is my job description saved or sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. The page opens with a sample posting so you can see how it works, and you can clear it in one click. Your posting, your background notes, your ready marks, mock interview rounds, and any answers you save are kept in your browser's local storage on this device so a reload does not lose them. Paste a different posting and the marks and unsaved text from the old one are dropped. Clear all empties the form and asks whether to delete saved answers too, and Delete saved answers on the first step removes them for good. Clearing site data in your browser settings does the same.
