Frequently Asked Questions

How do companies end up in this directory?▾
Nobody submits a listing. The pipeline ingests jobs from JSearch, Remotive, Adzuna, Arbeitnow, and Wellfound, normalizes each company name, and creates a profile automatically. During the scoring pass, the profile gets enriched with industry tags, a verified domain, and a resolved logo.
How is the quality score calculated?▾
Four signals feed into it: description completeness, salary transparency, posting age, and whether the application link resolves to an actual form. A company posting 20 jobs with salaries disclosed and working apply links scores well. A company with vague descriptions, no compensation data, and broken URLs does not.
What does the ghost job rate mean?▾
The percentage of a company’s listings that appear active but probably are not. The engine scores each posting on age, repost frequency, and description quality, then averages across all of that company’s jobs. Anything above 40% deserves skepticism.
How often does company data refresh?▾
Every 3 to 6 hours, depending on the source. Profiles recalculate automatically when new postings arrive or the dead-link checker removes expired ones.
A company I know is hiring doesn’t appear here.▾
Profiles only generate when active postings exist in the pool. If the company posts exclusively on its own site or a board outside the 5 sources, it won’t appear yet. Try searching on the jobs page by company name.
