Your fit score, right where you browse jobs
ShouldApply's Chrome Extension scores jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed as you browse them, and autofills your applications on Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby. No extra tabs. No copy-pasting.
Free with any ShouldApply account. Currently in beta.
What It Does
Two things: score jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed as you browse, and autofill applications on Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby. The scoring side reads the job description straight off the page and reuses the same engine that scores jobs on your dashboard, so a score you see in the extension matches what you'd get pasting the same listing into ShouldApply directly.
Score jobs on LinkedIn
Browse LinkedIn jobs as usual. The extension reads the job description and scores it against your full profile. You'll see a score badge, your matching skills, gaps, and a verdict right on the page.
Score jobs on Indeed
Same thing on Indeed. Click through job listings and each one gets scored automatically. Works on both individual job pages and the search results panel.
Autofill on Greenhouse
When you land on a Greenhouse application form, click "Autofill Now" and it fills your name, email, phone, LinkedIn, work history, education, and more. Handles React forms correctly (most autofill tools break on these).
Autofill on Lever
Same one-click fill on Lever application forms. Pulls everything from your ShouldApply profile so you're not retyping the same info on every application.
Autofill on Ashby
Ashby forms get the same treatment. The extension detects the Ashby application container and fills your contact info, work history, education, and resume in one click.
How to Set It Up
Three steps. Under a minute if you already have a ShouldApply account.
Install the extension
Install ShouldApply from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it to your toolbar so the fit score is one click away.
Connect your account
Go to Settings, then API Tokens in your ShouldApply dashboard. If the extension is installed, you'll see a "Connect Extension" button. One click and you're done.
Browse jobs
Open LinkedIn or Indeed and start browsing. The score widget appears automatically on each job listing.
What You See
Score badge (0-100) with color coding next to job titles
Click to expand: matching skills with levels (Expert, Strong, Working), gaps with explanations, and dealbreaker warnings
Skill count fraction (e.g. "5/8 skills matched")
One-line verdict: "Strong Match", "Good Fit", "Worth a Look", or "Weak Match"
On Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby: a banner at the top of the form with an "Autofill Now" button and a count of filled fields
Supported Platforms
The extension does two different jobs depending on where you are. On job boards, it scores what you're looking at. On application forms, it fills what you'd otherwise type by hand.
| Site | What it does |
|---|---|
| Score widget | |
| Indeed | Score widget |
| Greenhouse | Autofill |
| Lever | Autofill |
| Ashby | Autofill |
| Workday | Basic autofill |
Workday support is partial. Workday application forms get basic field fill from the extension's generic filler, but there's no dedicated Workday mapper yet, so multi-step Workday forms aren't fully supported. Read the Workday Playbook for the account-creation shortcut that saves the most time there, or use the dashboard's resume tailoring instead.
Privacy & Permissions
Scoring and autofill run on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday. On about 17 other applicant-tracking sites (SAP SuccessFactors, Taleo, iCIMS, Oracle Cloud Recruiting, BrassRing, and similar), the extension is read-only: it only checks whether the page requires an account and which sign-in options it offers, so the "account required" badge on your dashboard reflects what the page actually shows. It never reads page content, form data, or password values on those sites, and it doesn't run on any other site at all.
Your API token connects it to your ShouldApply profile and lives in Chrome's local storage, not in a script you can inspect from the page. For the full breakdown of what gets collected and how it's used, see our privacy policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the extension free?
Yes. The extension itself is free. It uses your ShouldApply account for scoring, so you'll need an account with available score credits.
Does it work on Firefox?
Not yet. Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc) only for now.
How does the scoring work in the extension?
The same way it works on the dashboard. The extension scrapes the job title, company, location, and description from the page, sends it to our scoring API, and your profile gets compared against the job's requirements using the same scoring engine.
Is my data safe?
Scoring and autofill run on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday. On about 17 other applicant-tracking sites (SAP SuccessFactors, Taleo, iCIMS, and similar), the extension is read-only: it only checks whether the page requires an account and which sign-in options it offers, never page content, form data, or password values. It doesn't run on any other site. Your API token is stored locally in Chrome's storage. Full details are in our privacy policy.
Does the extension work on Workday?
Partially. Workday application forms get basic field fill from the extension's generic filler, but there's no dedicated Workday mapper yet, so multi-step Workday applications aren't fully supported. See the Workday Playbook for the account-creation shortcut that saves the most time there.
What if LinkedIn changes their page layout?
We update the extension's selectors when sites change their DOM. If scoring stops working, update the extension and it should fix itself.
Can I disconnect the extension?
Yes. Go to Settings, then API Tokens, and click Disconnect. You can also revoke the token there, or remove the extension from chrome://extensions.
