Each skill gets a level from L1 to L5 based on how you used it, not how often the word appears.
Run one search
Pulls from 4 sources every 2 hours, drops duplicates and dead links, then scores the top 50.
Apply where it counts
Each score lists what it cost you, so you know whether to apply, tailor your resume, or skip.
What changes when you stop applying blind
What you see from your very first search.

A 0-100 score on five dimensions
Skills, experience, seniority, industry, and logistics plus job quality. One number, with the reasoning behind it.
How skill depth works
Skip listings nobody's hiring for
Posting age, reposts, missing salary and vague scope add up to a ghost probability on every result.
How ghost detection works
An estimated salary on every listing
When a posting leaves pay out, you still see a range, so you can skip the lowball roles before you apply.
Stop checking five job boards every morning
One feed, a resume for each kind of role, and a score on every posting you open.

Re: Marketing Manager
Dear hiring team,
I grew paid pipeline 38% in a year by rebuilding our campaign mix across four channels, which is the work your Marketing Manager role leads.
At Fernwood Home I owned a $1.2M budget and the weekly GA4 and Looker reporting leadership used to decide where it went. I would bring that same habit of tying every campaign to pipeline to Harbor & Pine.
Thank you for your time. I would welcome a conversation.

From people who tried it
I went from spending 8 hours a day applying to a handful of jobs that weren't reaching out, to less than an hour a day and getting interview requests stacking in my inbox.
It allowed me to seek better opportunities easily in my free time and ultimately resulted in a far better offer than my previous role.

Questions
What people ask before they upload a resume.
What is ShouldApply?
A job search tool that scores every listing against your resume before you apply. You get a 0 to 100 fit score, the reasons behind it, and the point cost of each gap.
It is not a job board. Jobs come in from the big boards, get cleaned up and deduplicated, and come back ranked by how well they fit you.
Do I still need to check LinkedIn, Indeed and every other board?
No. The pipeline pulls from 4 sources every 2 hours and merges them into one feed. When the same role is posted on LinkedIn, Indeed and the company site, you see it once, scored once, with all three apply links kept.
Listings with dead links, thin descriptions or blocked domains never reach you. On Pro, background scanning runs for you and a daily email sends the best new matches, so you can stop opening tabs every morning.
Can it tailor my resume for each job?
Yes. Pick a role and ShouldApply rewrites your resume to lead with the experience that posting asks for, then shows your match score before and after so you can see what changed.
You get 3 tailored resumes free. Pro includes resume tailoring for every role you score (try the free version), so you can keep one version per kind of job instead of editing a single file by hand.
Is there a Chrome extension?
Yes. It works on the sites you already use (extension details):
- Open a listing on LinkedIn or Indeed and see your fit score right on the page
- Likely ghost jobs are flagged before you click Apply
- Estimated pay appears when the posting leaves salary out
- Autofill completes applications on Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby with your saved answers
What is a ghost job, and how do you spot one?
A listing with little real intent to hire: an evergreen req, a repost that never closes, or a role already filled internally. Each listing gets a ghost probability from 0 to 95%.
The signals are posting age, reposting, missing salary, vague scope and a very high applicant count. You can also check a single posting with the free ghost job checker.
How is the score calculated?
70% profile fit and 30% resume match, combined into one number from 0 to 100. Profile fit covers five dimensions: skills, experience level, seniority, industry, and logistics plus job quality.
Every point you lose is listed with its cause, so an 84 comes with the 16 points of reasons (how Why Not 100 works). You can change the weights if, say, remote matters more to you than industry.
What happens to my resume data?
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Your resume is used to score jobs and tailor resumes for you, and data goes only to the service providers that run the product, as listed in the privacy policy.
Autofill in the extension only fills a form when you switch it on.
Do I need to pay?
Not to start. Free includes 5 searches a day and 3 job scores a week, plus the ghost-job checks on every listing. New accounts get a 14-day trial with more room, no card required.
Pro adds unlimited scoring, background scanning, the daily match email, resume tailoring per role and interview prep. See pricing for current rates.
